Tarboro’s annual tree lighting ceremony on Courthouse Square sets the tone for a magical night downtown. Horse-drawn carriage rides will run along Main Street from 6 to 8 p.m., creating a classic holiday experience. Additional activities include ornament-making at Tarboro Coffee House, sponsored by Tarboro Parks and Recreation.

Pinetops Christmas Parade — December 6 at 10:00 a.m., Downtown Pinetops
Start your morning with holiday cheer as festive floats, community groups, and local performers take over the streets of Pinetops in one of the area’s most treasured annual parades.

Downtown Tarboro Holiday Evening — December 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Main Street & Off the Main
Enjoy a second night of horse-drawn carriage rides on Main Street alongside family-friendly festivities. Santa will be available for visits at Off the Main, and children can participate in seasonal crafts at Tarboro Coffee House, sponsored by Parks and Recreation.

Tarboro Christmas Parade — December 14 at 2:00 p.m., Downtown Tarboro
This beloved community tradition brings families together to enjoy festive floats, marching groups, performances, and plenty of holiday spirit. It’s one of the most anticipated holiday events in Edgecombe County.

Live Jazz for the Holidays — December 20 at 7:00 p.m., Larema Coffee House
Spend the evening surrounded by warm lighting, great company, and exceptional live jazz. This intimate performance is the perfect way to slow down and savor the season.

New Year’s Events

New Year’s Eve Countdown in Tarboro — December 31 from 7:00 p.m. to midnight, Downtown Tarboro
Ring in 2026 with one of Edgecombe County’s biggest celebrations. The evening begins with family-friendly fun from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., featuring costume characters, face painters, and a special children’s countdown at 9:00 p.m. The celebration continues from 9:00 p.m. to midnight with live music from The Switch and beats from Impultz Entertainment. It’s a festive, energetic way to welcome the new year with your community.
